Food Safari is a show that explores the incredible diversity of cuisine in Australia, taking viewers on a journey to discover the history and cultural significance behind each dish. In season 2, episode 10, titled "Episode 10", the show takes a look at several different types of food and their origins.
The episode starts off in Melbourne, where we learn about the history of Turkish cuisine and how it has evolved over time. We meet a family who run a popular Turkish restaurant, and they share with us some of their signature dishes, including a delicious lamb pie and a fragrant eggplant dish.

We visit a popular Filipino restaurant and try some of their famous dishes, including a pork adobo and a crispy fish dish.
The episode then takes us to Adelaide to explore the world of Persian cuisine. We meet a couple who run a Persian restaurant, and they show us some of their favourite dishes, including a slow-cooked lamb shank and a fragrant saffron rice dish. We also learn about the use of herbs and spices in Persian cooking and how they are used to create complex, layered flavours.
Finally, we travel to the Gold Coast to explore the cuisine of Sri Lanka. We learn about the different influences that have shaped Sri Lankan food over the years, from Indian and Portuguese to Dutch and British. We visit a Sri Lankan restaurant and try some of their signature dishes, including a hearty chicken curry and a spicy fish stew.
Throughout the episode, we learn about the history and cultural significance of each type of cuisine, as well as how each dish is prepared and cooked. We also get to meet some of the passionate chefs and food lovers who are keeping these traditions alive and learn about their personal stories and experiences. Overall, episode 10 of Food Safari season 2 is a fascinating look at the incredible diversity of food that can be found across Australia.
