Project Singing / Project Record Player is the 18th episode of Floogals season 1, a children's animated series that follows a trio of tiny aliens as they explore the world of human beings. The show's premise is based on the idea that the Floogals, Captain Fleeker, First Officer Flo, and Junior Boomer, are conducting research on the different aspects of human life, from technology and toys to food and music. In this episode, the Floogals continue their scientific investigations by studying the phenomenon of singing and the mechanics of a record player.

The episode begins with the Floogals observing a young girl who is getting ready for a singing performance. As the girl warms up her voice and practices her song, the Floogals are intrigued by the way she uses her vocal cords to produce sounds. They decide to conduct a series of experiments to understand the science of singing. Their main objective is to find out how the girl's voice is amplified by a microphone and a loudspeaker, and why the audience can hear her singing even at a great distance.

To achieve their goal, the Floogals devise a plan to sneak into the girl's room while she is rehearsing. They use their shrinking machine to reduce their size, so they can hide undetected among the girl's toys and gadgets. Once inside, they start inspecting every piece of equipment, from the microphone and the amplifier to the speaker and the cables. They also take note of the girl's techniques, such as breathing, pitch, and rhythm, and record their observations in their trusty Floogalizer device.

However, their investigation takes an unexpected turn when one of the Floogals, Junior Boomer, accidentally triggers the record player. The device starts spinning a vinyl disc, and the Floogals are fascinated by the new sound that comes out of it. They realize that the record player is a different kind of machine than the ones they have been studying so far, and they decide to investigate it further.

The second part of the episode focuses on the Floogals' exploration of the record player. They discover that the device has several components, such as the turntable, the tonearm, the cartridge, and the stylus, that work together to produce music from a grooved record. They examine each part in detail and try to figure out how they function. They also observe how the record spins at a constant speed, how the stylus follows the grooves, and how the cartridge converts the vibrations into electrical signals.

As the Floogals delve deeper into the mechanics of the record player, they come across a problem: the record gets scratched and produces a weird sound. They realize that the device needs to be cleaned and maintained to function properly, so they set out to investigate the best way to do it. They experiment with various cleaning materials, such as a brush, a cloth, and a special cleaning solution, until they find the perfect combination.

Overall, Project Singing / Project Record Player is an engaging and informative episode that teaches children about the science of sound and music. The Floogals' curiosity and scientific approach make them great role models for young viewers, who can learn from their experiments and discoveries. The show also provides an entertaining and fun way to introduce kids to different musical genres and instruments, as well as the history of recorded music. With its colorful animation, catchy music, and funny characters, Floogals is a must-watch for any young scientist or music lover.
