In season 13 episode 2 of Flea Market Flip, titled "A Hair-Raising Flip," host Lara Spencer meets two teams of shoppers who are ready to tackle the challenge of finding and flipping unique items from a local flea market.
The first team is made up of friends from New Jersey, Will and Jen, who are looking to take their flipping skills to the next level. The second team is a mother-daughter duo from South Carolina, Mary and Cindy, who have a passion for vintage items and antiques.
As the teams begin their shopping spree, they each have their eye on different items. Will and Jen are drawn to a vintage arcade game, while Mary and Cindy are interested in a set of antique hair clippers. Both teams also grab a handful of smaller items, like knickknacks and home decor.
Back at the workshop, the teams get to work transforming their finds into unique and valuable pieces. Will and Jen decide to turn their arcade game into a functioning bar, complete with shelves for storing liquor. Mary and Cindy, on the other hand, decide to repurpose the old hair clippers into a chic table lamp.
As they work, Lara checks in on each team to see how their projects are coming along. Will and Jen run into some issues with getting their arcade game to function properly, while Mary and Cindy have trouble figuring out the best way to attach the lampshade to their clippers.
Despite the challenges, both teams manage to finish their projects in the nick of time. Will and Jen's bar looks complete with a fresh coat of paint and plenty of room for bottles, while Mary and Cindy's lamp is polished and ready to shine.
Finally, it's time for the teams to show off their creations to the judges and potential buyers. Will and Jen's bar gets a lot of attention from shoppers who love the nostalgia factor of the vintage game. Mary and Cindy's lamp also attracts plenty of interest, with its unique blend of industrial and antique elements.
In the end, both teams walk away winners. Will and Jen manage to sell their bar for a respectable profit, while Mary and Cindy get top dollar for their one-of-a-kind lamp. The episode concludes with Lara congratulating both teams for their hard work and reminding viewers that with a little creativity and elbow grease, anything can be transformed into a valuable piece of art or decor.
