Hosted by Lara Spencer, the series features creative duo twins, Robert and Cortney Novogratz, as judges who decide which team's flipped goods are worth the most money.
The teams, made up of best friends and DIY enthusiasts, scour the flea market to pick out their items with a budget of $500 each. They then have just one day to completely transform their purchases, before selling them the following day at the Brooklyn Flea Market. The team that makes the most profit on the day is crowned the winner.
In this episode, one team is made up of Sarah and her best friend Amanda, who are both experienced in the art of flipping items. Their plan is to take inspiration from an egg basket and repurpose it into a unique and stylish light fixture. Additionally, they decide to upcycle old tires into a beautiful set of outdoor planters. The result is a practical and modern creation that has the judges excited.
The other team, consisting of Monica and Madeline, is taking a different approach, using a colorful, retro luggage set as its starting point. Along with repurposing the luggage into a stylish piece of furniture, the team decides to use old baking tins to create a beautiful and functional herb garden. They run into some design issues, however, when the herb garden doesn't receive enough sunlight, forcing them to come up with a creative solution.
The judging takes place at the Brooklyn Flea Market, where both teams are eager to see how their upcycled items will fare. The Novogratz twins scrutinize the creations, looking for the most cost-effective and well-crafted items. The winning team will receive bragging rights and a cash prize, but both teams are delighted with the experience of creating something new from something old.
