In the fourth episode of Fixer to Fabulous season 4, Dave and Jenny Marrs tackle a unique challenge as they transform a dated cabin in the woods into a modern retreat. The original cabin was built in the 1970s and had not been updated in decades, leaving the new owners with a bleak and outdated interior.
The Marrs' first step was to open up the living space by removing walls and installing large windows to allow natural light in and capture the beautiful forest views outside. They then moved onto the kitchen which was completely revamped with modern appliances, sleek countertops, and white cabinetry.
One of the most unique features of this renovation was the installation of a Lutron lighting system. The system allowed the homeowners to control the lighting throughout the cabin with a simple touch of a button, creating different moods and settings for different activities.
In addition to the modern updates, the Marrs also incorporated rustic elements throughout the cabin to maintain its cozy charm. They created a stunning stone fireplace in the living room, installed a reclaimed wood accent wall, and added touches of natural materials, such as leather and fur, to bring warmth and texture to the space.
The bedrooms were also given a modern makeover with fresh paint, new bedding, and updated lighting. The ensuite bathroom was transformed into a luxurious spa-like retreat featuring a large walk-in shower and a modern freestanding tub.
Outside, the Marrs added a new deck and fire pit area to allow the homeowners to enjoy the beautiful forest scenery and entertain guests. They also added landscaping and a paved driveway to improve the curb appeal.
Overall, the Modern Cabin in the Woods episode of Fixer to Fabulous season 4 showcases the Marrs' ability to seamlessly blend modern and rustic design elements to create a cozy and luxurious retreat in the heart of nature.
