Ep 16. Small Rancher Gets the Biggest Addition

In this episode of Fixer to Fabulous, Dave and Jenny are tasked with taking a small rancher and making it into a more spacious home for a family of four. The couple wants to create a more open plan that allows for family time and entertaining.

The home sits on a beautiful piece of land, but the house itself is dated and needs a complete overhaul. Dave and Jenny decide to keep the existing layout of the house but remove all the walls and completely reconfigure the space. They plan to make the kitchen the focal point of the home, with a large island, commercial-grade appliances, and a rustic wood backsplash.

In addition to creating a new kitchen, Dave and Jenny add on to the home to make space for a much-needed mudroom and laundry room. The mudroom will be perfect for storing backpacks, shoes, and coats while the laundry room will offer plenty of space for folding and ironing clothes.

To keep with the rustic theme of the home, they install a beautiful wood burning stove in the living room. They also create a beautiful wooden fireplace mantle using reclaimed wood from an old barn.
