In Fixer to Fabulous season 2 episode 3, titled "A Home to Love," renovation experts Dave and Jenny Marrs take on a home in a historic district in their hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas. The homeowners, Jackie and Chuck, have lived in the 1950s ranch-style home for over 30 years but have never been able to update it to their liking due to budget constraints. With their children grown and moved out, they want to create a space that is perfect for entertaining guests and enjoying their golden years.
As the Marrs' begin their renovation, they quickly discover that the home has some hidden gems that they can restore and preserve, such as original brick fireplaces and hardwood floors. However, the kitchen and bathrooms are in dire need of updating, and the layout of the home needs to be reimagined to create an open-concept floor plan that is perfect for entertaining.
To start the renovation, Dave and Jenny must first remove a wall to create an open-concept living and dining area. They then create a makeshift kitchen in the garage so that Jackie and Chuck can continue to live in the home during the renovation process. The design for the new kitchen focuses on custom-made cabinetry and a massive island that can seat up to eight people.
In addition to the kitchen, the Marrs' also transform the master suite into a luxurious and modern space, complete with a spacious walk-in closet and a stunning new bathroom. The bathroom features a large soaking tub, a glass-enclosed shower, and beautiful floor-to-ceiling tile.
Throughout the renovation process, Dave and Jenny work closely with the homeowners to ensure that their wants and needs are met. From choosing the perfect tile and cabinetry to selecting the right light fixtures and paint colors, the Marrs' attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the project.
As the renovation comes to a close, Jackie and Chuck are thrilled with their "new" home and can't wait to share it with friends and family. The open-concept floor plan creates a perfect space for entertaining, while the new kitchen and bathrooms add a touch of luxury to the home they've lived in for over three decades. The Marrs' have truly created a home to love for years to come.
