Ep 3. Parasite Fright
- April 29, 2011
In Fish Hooks season 2 episode 3, titled "Parasite Fright," the fish students of Freshwater High are gearing up for a big dance competition against rival school Saint Genevieve's Prep. Meanwhile, Milo, Oscar, and Bea are dealing with an unexpected problem - they've each contracted a strange parasite that's causing them to behave oddly.
At first, Milo's behavior seems relatively harmless - he's just obsessing over a new toy he's gotten his hands on. But things quickly escalate when he starts stealing fish food from his friends, hoarding it in his locker, and even sneaking into the school at night to raid the cafeteria. Bea and Oscar are flummoxed by his bizarre behavior, and things get even worse when they realize that they're both infected with the same parasite.
As it turns out, the parasite is something called a "mind control worm," which burrows into the brains of its hosts and takes over their behavior. Bea and Oscar are horrified to learn that they've been unwittingly following the worm's commands all day, from singing in public to eating trash off the street. They desperately try to find a way to get rid of the parasite, but the worm seems to be resistant to all their attempts to remove it.
Meanwhile, the dance competition is fast approaching, and the students of Freshwater High are feeling the pressure. Bea, Oscar, and Milo are all supposed to perform together, but their bizarre behavior is getting in the way. Just when it seems like they'll have to drop out of the competition, they stumble upon a surprising solution - the parasite seems to be vulnerable to extremely loud music.
In a hilarious montage, the trio recruits their fellow fish students to help them create the loudest, most obnoxious music possible. They use everything from air horns to electric guitars to drive the mind control worms out of their brains, and just in time for the big dance competition. Despite the odds, they manage to pull off an amazing performance and defeat their rivals from Saint Genevieve's Prep.
In the end, the fish friends learn a lesson about the importance of friendship and looking out for one another. They're grateful that they were able to rely on each other to defeat the parasite, and they know that they can always count on each other, even in the craziest of circumstances. As the episode ends, the trio is looking forward to a well-deserved break - but little do they know, a new adventure is just around the corner.
