The popular dating show First Dates is back with its third season and the fourth episode features a fresh set of daters hopeful for love. The format of the show remains the same with each episode featuring a few couples who have never met before. The couples are set up on a date at the show’s restaurant and given the chance to get to know one another over dinner and drinks.
The episode kicks off with 28-year-old Sam who works in recruitment. He is looking for a girl who is funny, easy-going, and not afraid to be a bit different. He is matched with Ania, a 32-year-old who works for a high street fashion brand. Despite their initial nerves, the pair hit it off straight away and bond over their love of tattoos and piercings. Will they decide to meet up again or will they be heading home alone?
Next up is trainee teacher Lea, who is looking for a confident man who can make her laugh. She meets charming personal trainer Ben, who reveals he has recently come out of a long-term relationship. Lea is a self-confessed chatterbox and quickly engages Ben in conversation. Will their connection be enough to warrant a second date or will it be a case of no spark?
Following Lea and Ben is 24-year-old Jack, a barman who has been unlucky in love so far. He is paired with Becky, a 25-year-old hairdresser from Bolton. Becky is bubbly and outgoing and the pair hit it off from the off. They bond over their shared love of music and discuss the possibility of going to a gig together. Will the romance continue after the cameras have stopped rolling?
The fourth and final couple of the episode is 38-year-old Waz, a tattoo artist from Bournemouth who has been single for six years. He is matched with 30-year-old Alex, a probation officer from London. The pair seem to have little in common at first, but Waz is drawn to Alex's strong and confident personality. Will they both reveal enough about themselves to decide to go on a second date?
Throughout the episode, the audience gets a glimpse into the daters’ lives and what has led them to this point. Each couple has their own unique backstory and the show gives them the opportunity to share their hopes and fears with the viewers. The participants’ friends and family also make an appearance and provide some comic relief, as well as some heartfelt support and advice.
One of the highlights of the episode is the charming and charismatic host, Fred Sirieix. He welcomes each couple with his signature warm smile and offers them words of wisdom for their date ahead. His one-liners and quirky sense of humor add an extra layer of entertainment to the show.
Overall, the episode is a heartwarming and entertaining watch. The mix of personalities and backgrounds make for some interesting and often hilarious moments. Whether the couples choose to pursue a relationship or not, First Dates continues to provide a fascinating insight into the world of dating and relationships.
