Ep 11. Age is Just a Number
- January 1, 1970
Age is just a number in the eleventh episode of First Dates season 2, as six new hopeful romantics try their luck at finding love.
First up is 57-year-old Mick, who is looking for someone he can share his hobbies with. He meets up with 55-year-old divorcee Lorraine, and the two bond over their love of travel and adventure. But as the date progresses, Mick begins to worry that their age difference may be too much for Lorraine. Will their shared interests be enough to overcome their age gap?
Next, 23-year-old Chelsea meets 26-year-old footballer Jordan. Chelsea is looking for someone who can keep up with her witty banter, while Jordan is looking for someone who can see beyond his profession. As the two chat and sip cocktails, they both begin to let their guards down. But will Jordan's occupation ultimately overshadow their chemistry?
The third couple in this episode is 67-year-old Eric and 57-year-old Karen. Eric, a retired sailor, is hoping to find someone who shares his love of the ocean. Karen, a recent widow, is looking for someone she can travel with and make new memories. As they sit down for their meal, Karen's nerves begin to show. Will Eric's charm be enough to put her at ease and kindle a spark?
Rebecca, a 29-year-old marketing executive, is up next. She meets with 32-year-old bartender Brad, who is looking for someone who can appreciate his creativity and sense of humor. The two hit it off immediately, bonding over their shared love of music and dancing. But as the date comes to a close, Rebecca begins to worry that Brad is more interested in her boisterous personality than her authentic self.
The fifth date of the episode features 57-year-old retired teacher Joe and 52-year-old engineer Heather. Joe is looking for someone with similar interests, while Heather is simply hoping to find someone who can make her laugh. As the two enjoy their meal, they trade stories about their lives and discover they have more in common than they first thought. But as the night draws to a close, both Joe and Heather are left wondering if there's a real romantic connection.
The final couple of the episode is 20-year-old university student Emily and 27-year-old electrician Daniel. Emily is a self-professed introvert who is looking for someone who will challenge her and bring her out of her shell. Daniel, who was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome as a child, is looking for someone who will accept him for who he is. As the two bond over their shared experiences with anxiety, they both begin to open up and find common ground. But will their different life stages ultimately pose an obstacle to a potential relationship?
With a variety of ages, professions, and personalities, the eleventh episode of First Dates season 2 proves that age truly is just a number when it comes to finding love.
