Fireman Sam season 6 episode 21, titled "Day at the Seaside," follows the residents of Pontypandy as they enjoy a day of fun in the sun by the beach. The episode begins with Norman Price and Mandy Flood excitedly packing their bags for their trip to the seaside. They hop onto the bus with their friends and make their way to the beach, eager to start playing with their beach toys and swimming in the sea.
Meanwhile, Fireman Sam and his colleagues are keeping an eye on the beach from their lookout tower. They know that accidents can happen, especially on days when the beach is crowded, so they're on high alert. When they see a group of boys playing with a ball dangerously close to some sharp rocks, they quickly jump into action. Fireman Sam uses his rescue board to get to the boys and brings them back to safety.
After the boys are safe, the fire crew keeps a watchful eye on the rest of the beachgoers. But as the day goes on, more and more people arrive, and the beach starts to get crowded. Fireman Sam and the rest of the team realize that they need to take more proactive measures to ensure everyone's safety.
Meanwhile, Norman and Mandy decide to build a sandcastle and enter it into the town's sandcastle competition. They put all their effort into building the best sandcastle they can, but disaster strikes when the tide starts coming in. Their sandcastle slowly begins to crumble, and soon it's completely washed away. But Norman and Mandy don't give up – they come up with a new plan to make their sandcastle even better.
As the day starts to wind down, the beachgoers begin to pack up and head back home. Fireman Sam and his colleagues breathe a sigh of relief – they've successfully kept everyone safe from harm. On the bus ride back to Pontypandy, Norman and Mandy proudly show off their new and improved sandcastle to their friends.
