Fireman Sam Classic season 4 episode 12, titled "Fun Run," follows the adventures of the friendly and brave fireman Sam and his team of rescue workers. This episode begins with the annual Fun Run event in Pontypandy where people from all over the town gather to participate in the race.
Sam is responsible for overseeing the event's safety, so he starts by setting up the safety barriers on the race course. However, when he comes to a narrow bridge, he realizes that the safety barriers are too short and that there is a danger of people falling off the bridge.
Sam immediately contacts the crew and asks for help. Penny, Elvis, and Arnold, along with the rescue dog Radar, rush to the scene to assist. Meanwhile, Bella, the owner of the Pontypandy Cafe, prepares for the Fun Run and is excited about her participation.
As the race starts, all the participants run past the narrow bridge, but Belle, who is so eager to win the race, trips over and falls into the water, and her head gets stuck between the rails of the bridge.
Sam and Penny respond quickly, and with Arnold's help, they manage to rescue Belle in time, just before she drowns. They use a hydraulic pump to expand the railings, allowing Belle's head to pass through. Sam and his team members earn a huge round of applause from the townspeople for their quick and effective rescue effort.
However, the race is still on, and the participants continue running. Suddenly, Norman, who is a notorious troublemaker, decides to play a prank on the racers by setting up some obstacles along the course, such as ropes and hay bales. As a result, several runners trip and fall, but luckily, nobody gets injured.
Sam quickly realizes what's happening, and with the help of Elvis and Radar, he catches up with Norman and puts an end to his silly pranks. The racers are allowed to continue, and everyone eventually makes it to the finish line.
After the event, Sam and his crew members have a chat with Norman and remind him of the importance of safety and how his pranks could be dangerous and harmful. Norman takes heed and admits his mistake, and Sam gives him a warning to never repeat the prank again.
In the end, the Fun Run concludes successfully, as everyone has had an enjoyable time, and they have learned a valuable lesson in safety. Sam and his team return to the fire station, proud of their heroic rescue mission and glad that nobody was hurt during the race.
