Fireman Sam Classic season 3 episode 1, "Home From Rome" begins with the fire station receiving a distress call that there is a fire in Pontypandy. Fireman Sam, Elvis, and Penny quickly rush to the scene to find that it's a small fire in a garden. While they handle the situation, Chief Fire Officer Boyce arrives at the station to inform the team that he has been away on a firefighter's exchange program in Rome, Italy for the past few weeks.
He also brings back some souvenirs for the crew, but one item, in particular, catches Elvis' eye. Before long, the team is off to deal with a stranded tourist at the cliffs. The tourist is a man named Tony who is stuck on a dangerous ledge. Sam comes up with a daring plan to save Tony using a rope and pulley system.
Meanwhile, Mike Flood and his family are preparing to go on a vacation. They have a lot of luggage, but Mike insists on taking all of it, despite his wife's protests that they won't have enough room in the car. When they finally squeeze everything in and hit the road, they soon realize that Mike forgot to turn off the tap in his bathroom, and the room is now flooded.
Back at the station, Boyce tries to teach Elvis some new firefighting techniques that he learned in Rome, but the young fireman is distracted by the souvenir he received. It's a fancy new helmet that he can't resist trying on, much to the amusement of the others.
As the day goes on, various incidents keep the crew busy. First, they have to rescue a kitten stuck up in a tree. Then they have to help a family of ducks cross the road safely. But the biggest challenge of all comes when they receive a call about a fire at Mike Flood's workshop.
When they arrive at the scene, they find that the fire has spread to Mike's house and threatens to destroy the entire property. The crew quickly jumps into action, using all their skills to put out the flames before they can cause any further damage.
Throughout the episode, the team works together to handle each emergency, even when things go wrong, and they learn to trust their instincts and rely on each other's strengths. "Home From Rome" is a classic Fireman Sam episode that teaches teamwork, bravery, and the importance of being prepared for anything.
