In the fourth episode of Final Fantasy: Unlimited season 1, titled "Demon Sword Master - White Etude," our band of adventurers find themselves in yet another fantastical world known as Gaudium. This mysterious realm is engulfed in an eternal night, where only one city exists, surrounded by a desolate wasteland. As they explore this eerie land, things take a dangerous turn when they encounter an enigmatic figure wielding an incredibly powerful sword.

The episode begins with our protagonists, Ai and Yu Hayakawa, along with their companions Lisa Pacifist and Kaze, venturing into Gaudium. Immediately, they notice the peculiar atmosphere surrounding this realm and become determined to uncover its secrets. Guided by the Cactuar named Cactuar, they wander through the deserted wasteland, searching for any signs of life or answers.

As they make their way closer to the city, the group stumbles upon an abandoned mansion hidden in the darkness. Curiosity piqued, they decide to investigate. Inside, they discover a foreboding room with eerie music emanating from an old piano. Mesmerized by the haunting melody, they are suddenly interrupted by the arrival of an imposing figure.

This newcomer, who introduces himself as Piotr, is a renowned swordsman shrouded in mystery. His skills with the blade are unparalleled, and he possesses a sword known as the White Etude, which harbors incredible power. Despite his impressive abilities, Piotr comes across as solemn and tormented, haunted by his past.

Intrigued yet cautious, our heroes engage in conversation with Piotr, hoping to gain some understanding of Gaudium and the endless night. Piotr reveals that he is the last guardian of Gaudium, fiercely protecting the city from the menacing creatures known as Omega. These creatures possess the ability to drain light, further plunging the land into darkness. It becomes evident that the eternal night plaguing Gaudium is a result of the Omega's nefarious intentions.

Moved by Piotr's loyalty to his duty and the suffering of his people, our protagonists offer their assistance in extinguishing the Omega threat. They pledge to stand alongside him, ready to face any danger that lies ahead. United in their resolve, the group sets out to confront the Omega and bring light back to Gaudium.

Within the darkness of Gaudium's outskirts, the Omega appear before our brave adventurers, their menacing presence palpable. As the battle ensues, Piotr showcases his extraordinary swordsmanship, dispatching the creatures with graceful precision. Inspired by his prowess, Ai, Yu, Lisa, and Kaze join the fight, using their unique skills to vanquish the Omega.

With their combined strength, the group manages to defeat the Omega, momentarily lifting the veil of darkness from Gaudium. However, their victory proves to be temporary, as the Omega continually regenerate and return, their persistent assault threatening to overpower the exhausted defenders.

Realizing that the battle is far from over and their efforts alone are not enough, Ai, Yu, Lisa, and Kaze seek out a way to permanently banish the Omega. Together, they formulate a plan, utilizing their individual talents in conjunction with the formidable White Etude to counter the Omega's regenerative abilities.

In a final climactic showdown, our protagonists, along with Piotr, face the Omega once more. With resolute determination, they unleash their combined powers, engaging in an epic battle that will determine the fate of Gaudium. As the battle reaches its climax, startling revelations come to light, paving the way for a future fraught with even greater challenges.
