Figaro Pho is an animated series about the adventures of a boy named Figaro who has many phobias. In season 1 episode 2, titled Bromidrosiphobia (Fear of Bodily Odours), Figaro has an irrational fear of bad smells.
The episode starts with Figaro trying to leave his house to go to school, but he realizes that something smells bad. He looks for the source of the smell, but he cannot find anything. Figaro thinks that the smell is coming from him, so he tries to take a shower and use deodorant, but he still cannot get rid of the smell.
At school, Figaro is frightened when he realizes that everyone is avoiding him because of his smell. The teacher assigns group projects, and Figaro is assigned to work with Rivet, one of the characters who often bullies and teases him. Figaro becomes more anxious and afraid of the smell, especially when Rivet comments on it. Figaro decides to go home early, cutting class, to avoid his classmates.
Back at home, Figaro tries to find a solution to his bad odour phobia. He starts by throwing away all of his clothes, thinking that they are the source of the smell. He then tries to wash himself in different ways, including bathing in vinegar and tomato juice. Despite all his efforts, he still smells bad. Figaro becomes desperate, and his phobia takes over, affecting his mental and emotional attitudes.
On the following day, Figaro wakes up and realizes that he is late for school, so he runs to get dressed and goes to school in his pyjamas. At the school, he avoids meeting his classmates and tries to finish his own projects instead of working with Rivet. While working on his project, Figaro realizes that it is okay to have phobias and that he is not alone. He accepts his fear of smells and starts to understand how to manage it.
In the end, Figaro learns to overcome his fear of bad smells, and he realizes that it is not as bad as he thought it was. He also learns to accept himself and his phobias, which makes him feel more confident. This episode teaches children an important lesson of accepting themselves and their fears.
