Ep 9. The Gold Fruit Tree, the Flying Saucer, Felix Baby-Sits

Felix the Cat was a popular animated television series that first premiered in 1958, and this episode is the ninth in the first season. The show follows the adventures of the titular character, Felix the Cat, as he travels around the world and beyond, getting into all sorts of mischief along the way. In this particular episode, titled The Gold Fruit Tree, the Flying Saucer, Felix Baby-Sits, Felix finds himself looking after a young, mischievous alien named Zowie.

The episode begins with Felix walking through a dense forest, in search of a mysterious "gold fruit tree" that he has heard about. Despite the warnings of the locals, who tell him that the tree is guarded by a fearsome monster, Felix is determined to find it and claim its treasure for himself. However, when he finally tracks down the tree, he is surprised to find that the fruit is protected not by a monster, but by a strange, flying saucer that hovers above it.

Realizing that he has stumbled upon something truly extraordinary, Felix decides to investigate further. Climbing aboard the saucer, he is transported to an alien world, where he meets Zowie, a mischievous, blue-skinned creature who has run away from his parents.

Zowie takes an immediate liking to Felix, and the two quickly become friends. However, when Felix learns that Zowie's parents are searching for him, he realizes that he will have to help the young alien get back home. With the help of the flying saucer, the two travel across the galaxy, encountering all sorts of strange and wonderful beings along the way.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, Felix's friends are starting to worry about him. They notice that he has been gone for a long time, and begin to wonder what could have happened to him. When they discover that he has gone to another planet, they decide to follow him and see what's going on.

Eventually, Felix and Zowie arrive at the alien planet, where they are reunited with Zowie's parents. After a tense standoff with the local authorities, they are eventually allowed to return to Earth, where Felix's friends are waiting for them.

As the episode comes to a close, Felix reflects on his adventure, marvelling at the incredible sights he has seen and the strange creatures he has met. Zowie, meanwhile, is sad to be leaving his new friend behind, but promises to visit him again someday. With that, Felix bids farewell to his alien companion, and the two part ways, each heading off on their own exciting adventures.
