In the second episode of season five of FBI, titled "Love Is Blind," the team investigates a case involving a wealthy businessman who is accused of murdering his wife. The man, Robert Davis, claims that he was attacked and robbed by an unknown assailant while he and his wife were out for a walk in Central Park. However, as the team looks into Davis' alibi and begins to dig deeper into his past, they quickly realize that there is more to the story than meets the eye.
As the investigation continues, the team uncovers a number of shocking secrets about Robert Davis and his relationship with his wife. They discover that Davis was having numerous affairs and that his wife had been secretly planning to divorce him. Furthermore, they find evidence that suggests Davis may have been involved in a number of other criminal activities, including money laundering and embezzlement.
The team is also tasked with trying to track down the mysterious assailant who attacked Davis in Central Park. Using surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts, they are able to piece together a profile of the suspect and eventually identify him. However, when they catch up with the suspect, they find that things are not quite as they seem and that there may be even more players involved in the case than they originally thought.
Throughout the episode, the team is forced to navigate a number of difficult ethical questions related to the case. They must determine how much weight to give to the evidence against Davis versus his claims of innocence and whether or not to pursue charges against some of his associates who may also be involved in the case. They also grapple with personal issues, such as Maggie's struggle to balance her work with her new role as a mother and OA's ongoing efforts to find his abducted sister.
As with many episodes of FBI, "Love Is Blind" features a number of intense action sequences and a fast-paced plot, but it is also grounded by strong character development and thought-provoking thematic material. Overall, it is a compelling and engaging entry in the series that will appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
