In season 4 of the hit crime series FBI, episode 4 entitled "Know Thyself," we witness the team attempt to uncover the truth behind a double homicide. The show opens with Harriet/Special Agent Katrin Jaeger leading a briefing on the case involving two young victims who were found murdered in their home. Agent Jaeger, along with Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan and other members of the team, come together to investigate a series of violent crimes leading to the discovery of a DNA match to an incarcerated criminal.
As the investigation unfolds, the team discovers that the criminal had previously served time for assault and arson. While this may provide a motive for the murder, the team soon realizes there is more to the case than what meets the eye. Further investigation leads to the discovery that the incarcerated criminal had been in contact with a woman who had become fixated on him over the years that he has been in prison. This woman had even corresponded with him on a regular basis, claiming to be in love with him.
The FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) is called in to assist with the case. They identify the woman as having a mental disorder and conclude that she has a personality disorder that makes her desperate for love and attention. We soon come to understand that this woman may be more connected to the murder investigation than anyone had originally thought.
The plot thickens as more evidence is revealed and a shocking twist is uncovered. The team realizes that the woman might have a connection to a string of murders that have taken place over the years in the area. The team goes on a race against time to apprehend the woman and stop her before she can commit another murder.
Along the way, we see the personal lives of the team members unfold as they work together to solve the case. Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan’s past experiences with the victim hits close to home, leading to a personal dilemma that may affect his work. Meanwhile, Special Agent Maggie Bell juggles her work and new motherhood, hoping to provide the best care for her newborn baby while ensuring justice is served.
As expected, the show takes us on a thrilling ride full of suspense and action. FBI has never been one to disappoint its fans and an action-packed experience is what you can expect from "Know Thyself." The episode packs a punch as it brings to light the complexities of personality disorders and the reality of the aftermath of violent crimes.
"Know Thyself" reminds us of the importance of understanding one’s own mind and motives, and how, sometimes, people are not who they seem to be. By the end of the episode, fans will surely be left with a sense of satisfaction as they see justice served for the victims and the team grows closer together through their harrowing experiences.
