Richard Rawlings and his team of mechanics are back on the fourth season of Fast N' Loud to restore and transform old cars into hot rods that will leave jaws dropping. In episode 9 of this season titled "Shelby Rent-A-Racer Resto, Part 1," Richard and his colleagues encounter a tough challenge when they acquire a 1964 Shelby Mustang, one of only 50 models ever produced, for their next project.

The Shelby Mustang is in bad shape, and the team faces a daunting task to restore it to mint condition. To add to the pressure, they only have three weeks to complete the project and are determined to meet their deadline. Richard enlists the help of two of his best mechanics, Aaron Kaufman and KC Mathieu, to work on the Mustang, and they set to work immediately.

The team discovers that the Shelby Mustang is a unique car, different from other Mustang models. It was built specifically as a rental car in the mid-1960s, mainly for drag racing enthusiasts who wanted to test their skills on the track. It was equipped with a high-performance engine, and it was stripped of any unnecessary components to make it lighter. The Shelby Mustang was a favorite among racers, and it gained a reputation as a powerful and fast vehicle.

However, all that racing took a toll on the car, and it has been neglected over the years. The paint is faded, the interior is worn out, and the engine is in a sorry state. Richard and his team know that they have their work cut out for them, but they are determined to do whatever it takes to restore the Mustang to its former glory.

As they begin to strip the car down, they discover that some parts are missing, and they are forced to scour the country to find replacements. At one point, they are forced to buy a donor car to get parts that they need. The process is long and tedious, and the team is under pressure to finish the work in time.

In the meantime, Richard and his team are also working on other projects, including a 1957 Chevy Bel Air and a 1971 Dodge Challenger. Both projects are complex, and the team is stretched thin. They have to work hard to meet their deadlines, and the show follows their progress as they struggle to get the job done.

The team uses their expertise to modify the Mustang and give it some unique features that will make it stand out. They add a custom paint job, new wheels, and tires to give it a vintage but modern look. The engine is rebuilt from scratch, and many of the components are upgraded to improve performance.

Shelby Mustang fans will appreciate the attention to detail that the team puts into restoring this car. They go to great lengths to ensure that the car is as close to the original as possible, adding authentic parts and using accurate colors. The end result is a beautiful machine that looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.

Overall, "Shelby Rent-A-Racer Resto, Part 1" is an entertaining episode that showcases the dedicated and talented team at Gas Monkey Garage. Fans of the show will love seeing how Richard and his team take on such a challenging project and turn a neglected car into a high-performance machine. The episode is a must-watch for anyone who loves classic cars and the restoration process.
