John Crichton and the rest of the crew of Moya encounter a group of escaped prisoners who are hiding out in a desert planet. The group is led by a woman named Jool who quickly becomes a thorn in John's side. Despite her initial hostility towards him, John attempts to win her over by showing her a picture of Earth, his home planet.
Meanwhile, D'Argo discovers that his son, Jothee, is being held as a slave by the same group of escaped prisoners. He decides to try and rescue him, but quickly realizes that they have other plans for Jothee. D'Argo is forced to team up with John and the others in order to free his son and put an end to the escapees' plans.
As they move deeper into the planet, John discovers a locket that belonged to his father. This discovery brings up painful memories, causing him to question whether he should continue on his dangerous journey. However, he ultimately decides to push forward and help D'Argo save his son.
As the group fights their way through the escapees' stronghold, Jool begins to show her true colors. She reveals that she was once a prisoner herself and that she has been using the group's resources to try and find a way back to her home planet. Despite her treachery, John and the others continue to fight alongside her in order to achieve their goal.
In the end, they are able to free Jothee and put an end to the escapees' plans. John also finds closure with the discovery of his father's locket, which helps him to come to terms with his past and move forward on his journey.
Overall, "The Locket" is a thrilling and emotional episode that showcases the strengths of the Farscape cast. As always, the show balances action-packed sequences with heartfelt character moments, resulting in a satisfying viewing experience.
