The episode 'Sitting Pretty' of the popular family sitcom 'Family Matters' revolves around the challenges that arise when one tries to earn quick money by latching onto an opportunity which may seem a bit far-fetched.

The episode starts with Carl Winslow, the tough but amiable police officer, leaving for work when Richie, his younger son, shows him a flyer he picked up from the neighborhood laundromat. The flyer invites people to submit their pictures and get paid for modeling in ads and promotional events. Richie is excited about the opportunity and wants to submit his picture. Carl, however, dismisses it as a scam, but Richie persuades him by saying that he will use the money earned to buy a present for his mom and grandma.

Meanwhile, Eddie, Carl's elder son, has plans of his own. He wants to buy a car. His friend Rodney tells him that he knows someone who can get him a good deal on a used car. Eddie is ready to buy the car, but his friend insists on making a deal that is a bit shady. Eddie, being short on cash, is ready to take the chance.

The next day, Richie excitedly tells his family that he has been shortlisted for a modeling event. However, when the family arrives at the event, they discover that it's not what they thought it was. The modeling event is actually an infomercial for a kitchen appliance set which promises culinary perfection. The family is disappointed, but they stay on and watch the infomercial. The host of the show, Stuart, is a fast-talking salesman who promises the best cooking experience with his appliance set. Carl, who is skeptical, decides to test the appliance and see if it delivers what it promises. He orders a set for his family.

The next scene shows Eddie in his new car, which he bought from Rodney's college buddy. The car starts making strange noises, and Eddie realizes that he has been duped. The car is a lemon, and it's not worth the price he paid for it.

Meanwhile, at home, Carl and Harriette try to master the kitchen appliance set. However, they soon realize that the set is not as easy to use as it looks on TV. Harriette creates a mess in the kitchen, and Carl burns their dinner. They both get frustrated and decide to return the set.

The scene shifts to Eddie, who is trying to sell his car to a used car dealer. The dealer tells him that the car is in bad shape, and the best he can do is to offer him half the price he paid for it. Eddie is disheartened and realizes that he has been taken for a ride.

The final scene shows the Winslow family sitting together, eating take-out food. They all discuss their experiences and realize how greed and shortcuts can lead to disappointment and frustration. They all agree that the only way to earn money or get what you want is to work hard and be honest.

Overall, the episode 'Sitting Pretty' of 'Family Matters' showcases how the Winslow family deals with the consequences of trying to take shortcuts to get what they want. The episode delivers an important message about the value of honesty and hard work in achieving success.
