In the Family Guy season 9 episode 13 titled "Trading Places," the Griffin family finds themselves in a bit of a financial crisis when Lois misses a delivery of their paycheck. Stressed out by their mounting bills and inability to make ends meet, Peter decides to take matters into his own hands and goes to see his accountant to try and figure out a way to make some extra money.
During his meeting with the accountant, Peter discovers that he has a doppelganger named Pat who is wealthy and successful, living the life that Peter has always dreamed of. The two men meet and decide to trade places for a week, with Pat taking over Peter's duties at the brewery and Peter taking on Pat's lifestyle of luxury and excess.
At first, Peter is thrilled to be living the good life, but he quickly discovers that Pat's life isn't as perfect as it seems. Meanwhile, Lois is struggling to make ends meet on her own and the kids are trying to adjust to Peter's absence from their lives.
As the week goes on, Peter realizes that he's made a huge mistake by trading places with Pat and decides to try and make things right. But with both men refusing to switch back, it looks like the Griffins are going to be stuck in their new lives for good.
"Trading Places" is a wacky and hilarious episode of Family Guy that explores what happens when we try to be someone we're not. Through the story of Peter and Pat, the show asks us to consider what really matters in life and what we're willing to do to chase our dreams. As always, the episode is filled with plenty of laughs and absurd moments that are sure to keep fans of the show entertained.
