In "Road to Germany," the third episode of season 7 of Family Guy, Brian and Stewie travel back in time to World War II-era Germany after Stewie creates a time machine. While there, they become embroiled in a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler and must find a way to stop it.
The episode opens with Stewie showing off his new time machine to Brian. After explaining how it works, Stewie suggests they use it to visit "the hottest time and place in history": Germany in 1939, just before the start of World War II. Brian is hesitant, but Stewie convinces him to go.
Once they arrive, they find themselves in the middle of Nazi Germany. Brian is immediately uncomfortable with the situation, but Stewie is excited to see Hitler in person. As they explore the city, they come across a group of Nazi soldiers preparing to launch a secret mission. Curious, Brian and Stewie follow them and discover that they are planning to assassinate Hitler.
Brian and Stewie decide that they cannot let the assassination go ahead, as it could drastically alter history. They hatch a plan to infiltrate the Nazi headquarters and warn Hitler about the plot. After disguising themselves as German officers, they make their way to the headquarters and manage to warn Hitler just in time.
Hitler is grateful to Brian and Stewie for saving his life and offers to take them on a tour of Germany. They visit several famous landmarks, including the Brandenburg Gate and Neuschwanstein Castle, and even attend a Nazi rally. However, Brian becomes disillusioned with the regime and expresses his disgust at the Nazi ideals. Stewie, on the other hand, begins to sympathize with Hitler and his vision for a perfect world.
As they continue their travels, Brian and Stewie eventually encounter the group of would-be assassins again. They realize that they need to stop the group from carrying out the assassination, so they hatch a plan to sneak into the bunker where the assassination is set to take place and disable the bomb. However, their plan is foiled by one of Hitler's loyal officers, and they are captured.
The episode ends with Brian and Stewie imprisoned in the bunker, seemingly doomed to be killed in the explosion. However, they manage to escape just in time and use the time machine to return to the present day.
Overall, "Road to Germany" is a classic example of the show's satirical humor, as it skewers both Nazi Germany and time travel tropes. It also highlights the classic dynamic between Brian and Stewie, with Brian being the voice of reason and Stewie being the impulsive troublemaker. The episode serves as a reminder of the show's ability to tackle complex issues with both humor and heart.
