Stu & Stewie's Excellent Adventure is an episode from the fourth season of the animated sitcom, Family Guy. In this episode, Stewie Griffin, the youngest member of the Griffin family, travels back in time to the 1960s with Stu, the owner of a time machine, in order to experience the decade's pop culture.
As the episode begins, Stewie is fascinated by a toy phone that he saw in the Griffin family's attic. He tries to make a call on the toy, but is disappointed when it does not work. However, Stu, who happens to be visiting the Griffins, reveals that he has a time machine and offers to take Stewie back in time to the 1960s, when toy phones actually worked.
Stewie eagerly accepts the offer and the two of them travel back in time to the decade of peace, love, and psychedelic colors. Once there, they embark on an adventure-filled journey through the iconic events and personalities of the 60s.
Some of the highlights of their journey include meeting John F. Kennedy, participating in a Vietnam War protest, and attending a rave party hosted by Timothy Leary. They also encounter a group of hippies who introduce them to their lifestyle, including drug use and free love.
Despite initially enjoying the freedom and excitement of the decade, Stewie begins to miss his own time and worries about the consequences of altering the course of history. He also starts to realize that Stu's obsession with reliving the past has made him neglect his own life.
As Stewie and Stu prepare to return to the present day, they are chased by the FBI, who are after Stu's time machine. In a thrilling chase scene, they manage to evade the FBI and return home, where Stewie is grateful to be back in his own time.
Overall, Stu & Stewie's Excellent Adventure is a fun-filled episode that pays homage to the iconic events and personalities of the 1960s. It also raises questions about the consequences of meddling with history and the importance of living in the present.
