Brian the dog has been a mainstay of the show for almost two decades, serving as the Griffin family's trusty companion for years. But in the latest episode of "Family Guy," everything changes when Brian is replaced by a new dog.
Titled "Who's Brian Now?," the episode explores what happens when the Griffins adopt a new dog named Vinny (voiced by Tony Sirico of "The Sopranos" fame) after Brian is accidentally killed by a car. Vinny is a rough-and-tumble, street-smart dog from the wrong side of the tracks, and his antics quickly win over the Griffins -- except for Stewie, who is determined to get Brian back.
As the episode progresses, Stewie and Vinny engage in a power struggle for control over the Griffin household. While Vinny is eager to prove himself as a worthy successor to Brian, Stewie is skeptical of the new dog's motives and is convinced that he is not good enough for the family.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Griffins are adjusting to life with Vinny, who isn't afraid to speak his mind and give them a taste of his blue-collar attitude. Despite some initial resistance, Meg, Chris, and Peter warm up to Vinny and come to appreciate his quirks.
Overall, "Who's Brian Now?" is a poignant exploration of what happens when a beloved family pet is taken away, and how even the most loyal and dependable companions can be replaced by someone new. With its trademark humor and heart, "Family Guy" delivers yet another memorable episode that is sure to leave fans laughing and crying in equal measure.
