In Season 15 Episode 2 of Family Guy, titled "Bookie of the Year," Peter becomes a bookie to make some extra cash. When one of his clients cancels a bet, Peter is forced to pay out more money than he has. Desperate to cover his losses, Peter turns to Quagmire for help, but finds himself indebted to him instead.
Meanwhile, Brian and Stewie decide to test out the Quagmire theory – that anyone can achieve anything they want in 21 days – by trying to break bad habits and form new ones. Stewie decides to give up his pacifier while Brian tries to stop drinking. However, both quickly realize that changing behavior is easier said than done.
As Peter's debt to Quagmire becomes more and more unmanageable, he turns to Lois for help. She encourages him to come clean to Quagmire and pay back the money he owes. But when Peter finally musters up the courage to confess, Quagmire reveals that he already knew about the debt and had been waiting for Peter to come clean. As it turns out, he had a plan to teach Peter a valuable lesson about the dangers of gambling.
In the end, both Peter and Brian learn the hard way that changing behavior requires dedication and discipline. While Peter vows to never gamble again, Brian admits that he needs help overcoming his addiction to alcohol. Together, the family learns that facing their problems head-on is the only way to truly break bad habits and form new ones.
