The episode "The New Adventures of Old Tom" is the 18th episode of the 14th season of the animated television series Family Guy. In this episode, Peter meets an old friend named Tom Tucker, who used to work with him at the news station. Tom has undergone a dramatic transformation and become a successful businessman, but he still yearns for his old life in the newsroom. Peter convinces Tom to come back to the news station as their lead anchor, but things quickly go awry when Tom's newfound success rubs his old coworkers the wrong way.
Meanwhile, Stewie becomes enamoured with Tom's glamorous lifestyle and begins to emulate his behaviour, much to Brian's dismay. Brian tries to snap Stewie out of it by showing him the dark side of being overly materialistic and selfish.
This episode is a satirical commentary on the pitfalls of greed and consumerism, as well as the dangers of losing touch with one's roots. It also explores the theme of nostalgia and the idea that sometimes, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. The episode features the usual irreverent humour and pop culture references that are hallmarks of the Family Guy franchise.
