In the 4th episode of the 11th season of Family Guy titled "Yug Ylimaf," some strange things happen in Quahog and the Griffin family is at the center of it all. Brian accidentally causes Stewie's time machine to go haywire, which leads to the family members suddenly experiencing time going in reverse.
The episode starts with Brian showing Stewie how to work his Halloween candy bucket. The two of them have a discussion about Stewie's time machine which, according to Stewie, works like a car. Brian decides to give it a try, but accidentally breaks the time machine's control pad.
Stewie gets angry and decides to take matters into his own hands. He fixes the console himself but doesn't tell Brian he's done it. Later in the day, Brian attempts to use the time machine again and ends up causing its polarity to shift, leading to time moving in reverse. Initially, Brian doesn't realize what's happening and tries to blame it on everyone else. However, as the chaos increases, he finally realizes he's the one responsible for causing it all.
As time reverses itself, we see the Griffin family members becoming younger and younger. Peter turns back into a baby, Chris becomes a toddler, and Stewie becomes an embryo again. Lois and Brian are the only two members of the family who seem to age in the reverse direction, with Lois becoming an older woman and Brian becoming an elderly dog.
As time continues to go backwards, the family members are not only getting younger, but they're also experiencing memories that haven't happened yet. This results in some hilarious and confusing moments, such as Peter questioning why he suddenly has a baby's knowledge of quantum physics.
The episode also explores some interesting themes, such as the importance of aging and the value of memories. The Griffin family members start to realize just how important their experiences and memories are to who they are as individuals. Stewie focuses on trying to fix the time machine, believing that he can just go back in time and prevent the disaster from happening.
As the episode reaches its climax, the family members begin to experience more physical changes in addition to the time shift. They find themselves stuck in positions such as walking in reverse, or speaking backwards. It's a clever way to keep the audience engaged while the family members try to figure out what's going on.
Overall, "Yug Ylimaf" is a funny and memorable episode of Family Guy. It's not every day that you get to see an entire family grow younger and younger as time goes in reverse. The episode combines absurdity with some meaningful themes in a way that only Family Guy can. If you're a fan of the show and haven't seen this episode yet, it's definitely one that should be on your must-watch list.
