Blair, Jo, Tootie, and Natalie are spending their Christmas in jail. The girls are volunteering at a halfway house for juvenile delinquents, where they put on a Christmas program to uplift its young inhabitants. In the beginning, the girls are disappointed that they could not spend Christmas with their families but they soon learn that their experience at the halfway house is worth any sacrifice. Blair attempts to teach the residents etiquette and manners, even deciding to cook them a formal Christmas dinner. Jo, still haunted by her own struggles with domestic abuse, bonds with a girl whose mother is soon to be released from jail. Tootie, dressed as Santa, brings cheer to the children with a Christmas carol. Meanwhile, Natalie has a candid conversation with a young girl about the harsh realities of life. As the program wraps up and the halfway house celebrates Christmas, the girls realize that the holiday isn't just about the traditions and more about the spirit of giving, compassion and love that they can share with others.
