Blair is excited to host a dance marathon for charity with Jo and Tootie assisting, but things do not go as planned. Blair's initial optimism at holding a dance marathon turns sour as the group is plagued with problems throughout the event. A group of tough-looking bikers enters the dance and terrifies Blair, but they redeem themselves by reciting poetry. A disheveled and tired Mr. Bradley also makes an appearance at the marathon, and Blair realizes that she has been too hard on him. Meanwhile, Natalie spends her time interviewing couples who have been married for over twenty-five years for an article in the school newspaper.

As the marathon progresses, complications arise. Music stops playing, one of the organizers becomes ill, and people begin to drop out of the competition. Blair becomes increasingly upset and frustrated as her charity event begins to look like a failure. Jo and Tootie work to keep the party going and encourage Blair to relax. During one of the breaks, Jo and Blair dance together and she tries to ease Blair's tense mood, but Blair brushes her off with her usual arrogance.

At the peak of her stress, Blair discovers that Mr. Bradley is the one who has been keeping the music playing all night long. Though Blair had earlier intended to dismiss Mr. Bradley, she now thanks him for his dedication to the dance marathon and promotes him to head of the music department. After realizing her shortcomings, Blair apologizes to Jo and Tootie for her behavior and admits that she isn't always right.

In the end, the dance marathon ends with a bang as the couples crowd the dance floor and dance together. Jo and Blair share a special dance, thanking each other for their support and friendship. Natalie proudly takes her interviews and writes a feature on the beloved couples.
