Blair, Jo, and Natalie are hanging out at the mall when they witness a girl shoplifting from one of the stores. They are unsure of what to do and whether they should report it or not. Meanwhile, Tootie is busy working at a department store and has to deal with a difficult customer who accuses her of stealing.

The girls start to talk about the girl they saw shoplifting and debate whether they should report it or not. Blair is worried that if they do, the girl might get in trouble and doesn't want to be responsible for that. Jo thinks that they should report it because stealing is wrong, and Natalie is torn between both opinions.

As they continue to talk, they notice that the girl is still at the mall and is shoplifting from multiple stores. They decide they have to do something and go to the mall security office to report it. The security guard tells them that they cannot do anything unless they catch the girl in the act.

Meanwhile, Tootie is having a tough time at her job. She is accused of stealing a wallet by a customer who dropped it and couldn't find it. The customer accuses Tootie of stealing it, but Tootie denies it. Her boss believes her, and they continue to search for the missing wallet. Eventually, they find the wallet in a different part of the store and Tootie is exonerated.

Back at the mall, the girls are still debating what to do about the shoplifter when they witness her stealing from yet another store. They decide to follow her and see where she goes. They end up following her to an abandoned apartment building, where they see her enter an apartment. They decide to go to the police, but when they arrive at the station, they are met with a rude officer who doesn't take them seriously and dismisses them.

Feeling defeated, they return to the apartment building and decide to investigate on their own. They find the girl inside the apartment and are shocked when they discover that she is homeless and has been stealing to survive. The girls are moved by her situation and decide to help her instead of turning her in.

They bring her back to Mrs. Garrett's house, and Mrs. Garrett gives her a warm meal and a place to sleep for the night. The girls decide to take it upon themselves to find the girl a place to live and a job so she can support herself without resorting to stealing.

In the end, the girls' compassion and willingness to help someone in need teaches them a valuable lesson and they realize that helping others is always the right thing to do.

The episode highlights important topics such as homelessness, theft, and compassion. It shows the girls grappling with difficult decisions and ultimately choosing to do the right thing, even when it isn't easy. The episode is a touching reminder that sometimes, the simplest act of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life.
