Jo and Blair's friendship is tested when they both apply for the same job at the local boutique. After several rounds of interviews, Blair is offered the job but Jo is left empty-handed. Frustrated and struggling to find work, Jo accepts an invitation from a male acquaintance to attend a fancy party. However, when Jo arrives, she quickly realizes that the party is actually a high-end auction where women are bought and sold as companions for wealthy men. Jo is horrified but also desperate for money and ends up being auctioned off herself. Meanwhile, Blair struggles with guilt over taking the job that Jo really wanted and tries to make it up to her by throwing her a surprise birthday party. However, when Jo doesn't show up, Blair becomes worried and enlists the help of Tootie and Natalie to track her down. When they eventually find Jo at the auction, they devise a plan to try and rescue her before she's sold to the highest bidder. The episode explores themes of friendship, loyalty, and the dangers of desperation.
