In season 12, episode 6 of Face Off titled "Possessed Possessions," the contestants are tasked with creating creatures based on inanimate objects that are possessed by demons. The episode kicks off with McKenzie Westmore introducing the challenge and showcasing a selection of objects the artists can choose from. These include a teddy bear, a typewriter, a grandfather clock, and several others.
Once the artists choose their objects and research demon mythology, they begin sketching out their designs for the characters their objects will become. As they work on their designs, the judges, Glenn Hetrick, Ve Neill, and Neville Page, make their rounds to check in on each contestant and offer their critiques.
One artist, in particular, struggles with the challenge as they feel stuck trying to make their possessed object look demonic without it coming across as cheesy. Another artist struggles with a communication breakdown with their partner -- they both have different ideas for the character they are creating, but are not effectively communicating with each other.
As the artists mold, sculpt, and paint their designs, they also have to worry about incorporating their possessed object into the character's overall look. Some artists choose to make their objects blend seamlessly into the character's design, while others take a more literal approach and make the object look like an accessory.
On the day of the reveal, the artists present their creations to the judges, and they each have to explain how they incorporated the possessed object into their character's design. Some characters are praised for their creativity and attention to detail, while others fall short in terms of execution and design.
In the end, the judges deliberate and declare the winner of the challenge, as well as the contestant who will be going home. Overall, the episode features impressive creativity from the artists, as they manage to turn ordinary objects into demonically possessed creatures.
