Ep 11. The Faux Pas

Ray Barone is in his living room with his wife, Debra, and his brother Robert. They are talking about a restaurant they recently visited when Debra mentions that she ordered a salad with a lot of toppings. Robert comments that he never orders salads and Debra suggests that he should try one sometime.

Ray then tells them about an incident that happened at his work. He accidentally didn't invite a co-worker, Bernie, to his anniversary party and Bernie found out. Ray doesn't know how to make it up to him and Debra tells him to just apologize and make it right.

Meanwhile, Robert is having problems with his girlfriend, Amy. They recently moved in together and Robert is having trouble adjusting. He feels like he's losing his independence and Amy isn't respecting his space. He talks to Ray about it and Ray suggests he talk to Amy and set some boundaries.

Later, Ray invites Bernie over to his house to apologize and make it up to him. However, things take a turn for the worse when Bernie accidentally catches Ray's parents, Frank and Marie, in a compromising situation. Bernie is shocked and offended and storms out of the house.

Frantic to make things right, Ray tries to find Bernie and apologize again. He even goes so far as to show up at Bernie's house unannounced. But Bernie is still upset and doesn't want to forgive Ray.

Meanwhile, Robert and Amy are having a fight of their own. Robert confronts Amy about not giving him enough space and Amy responds by saying that he's being too needy and dependent. They argue and Amy storms out of the house.

In the end, Ray realizes that he's made a faux pas but he's not going to let it ruin his relationship with Bernie. He sets out to make it right and eventually, Bernie forgives him. Robert and Amy also make up and come to an understanding about their living situation. The episode ends with the Barone family gathered in the living room, laughing and enjoying each other's company.
