Ray Barone is a sportswriter and family man who lives with his wife Debra, teenage daughter Ally, and twin sons Michael and Geoffrey in Long Island, New York. Ray's parents, Frank and Marie, live across the street, and his older brother Robert is a police officer who frequently visits. In season 7, Ray deals with various family and work-related issues while trying to balance his responsibilities and maintain his sanity.

In "The Bachelor Party," Ray's brother Robert is getting married to his fiancée Amy, and Ray is tasked with throwing his bachelor party.
