Ep 12. Grandpa Steals

In Everybody Loves Raymond season 7 episode 12 titled Grandpa Steals, Frank's dad, Jerry, also known as "Grandpa," comes to visit for a few days. However, things take a turn for the worse when Grandpa accidentally steals Ray's wallet, leaving Ray penniless and without his ID.

At first, Ray tries to play it cool with his father-in-law, pretending that he isn't upset over the lost wallet. However, Debra knows something is wrong when Ray starts obsessing over every single penny he spends and starts frantically searching through the garbage in case he accidentally threw away his wallet.

Debra tries to get through to Ray, telling him that it's just a wallet and he can cancel his credit cards and order new ones. But Ray's pride won't let him admit that he's upset about more than just the lost wallet. He confesses to Debra that he's worried that Grandpa accidentally took his wallet because he doesn't trust Ray or think he's responsible enough to hold onto it.

Meanwhile, Grandpa is oblivious to the whole ordeal and continues to go about his business, going on walks, watching TV, and eating all of Frank and Marie's food. When Ray confronts him about the wallet, Grandpa is apologetic but doesn't seem to fully understand the gravity of the situation, making Ray even more irritable.

As the episode progresses, tensions rise between Ray and Grandpa, with Ray becoming more and more frustrated with his father-in-law's carelessness. Eventually, the situation comes to a head when Ray confronts Grandpa after finding his checkbook hidden in another room. Grandpa becomes defensive, feeling like he's being accused of stealing, and an argument ensues.

During the argument, Grandpa reveals that he only took the wallet because he saw it on the floor and thought Ray had left it there on purpose for him to find. He didn't mean to cause any harm and had planned on giving it back the next time they saw each other. Ray is taken aback, realizing that his insecurities about his responsibility had clouded his judgment and caused him to jump to conclusions.

In the end, Ray and Grandpa make amends, with Ray apologizing for his behavior and Grandpa promising to be more careful in the future. The family sits down for dinner and shares a laugh, with Grandpa regaling them with stories from his youth. It's a heartwarming episode that showcases the ups and downs of family relationships and the importance of communication.
