In Everybody Loves Raymond season 4 episode 15 titled "Robert's Rodeo," the story revolved around a series of events surrounding Robert and his newfound passion for bull riding. After watching a group of cattle wranglers and bull riders, Robert became enamored with bull riding and decided to try his hand at it.
Robert's family, however, is not as thrilled as he is about his new hobby. They are worried about his safety and think it is a reckless thing for him to do. Marie, Robert's mother, is especially concerned. She excessively fusses over Robert's wounds and tries to convince him to quit. However, Robert is determined to do it, and his stubbornness leads to a significant disagreement with his family.
On the other hand, Ray, Robert's brother, is impressed with his newfound hobby. He sees it as a way to connect with Robert and tries his luck at bull riding. The two of them go to a rodeo to compete head-to-head. In the end, the result turns out to be hilarious as they end up getting thrown off within a few seconds of riding.
The episode also touches upon the subjects of masculinity and peer pressure. One of the rodeo performers highlights the importance of maintaining a cowboy image, which launches the topic of masculinity. Ray and Robert soon find themselves wondering if their cowboy image will be valid if they're both terrible at bull riding.
On a side note, there's a subplot involving Frank, the father of Ray and Robert, and his driving test. Frank, who has never driven a car before, is scheduled to have his road test, and his wife Marie provides him with a lesson on parallel parking. However, things go wrong when the lesson spirals into a dispute.
