The plot of Even Stevens season 2 episode 8, "Head Games," revolves around the main character, Louis, and his attempts to find a date for a school dance. Louis comes up with a plan to ask out his crush, Tawny, by using a fake fortune-telling machine. He convinces Tawny that the machine predicts that they will be the king and queen of the school dance, which leads her to agree to go with him.
However, the plan backfires when Tawny finds out the truth about the machine, causing her to become angry and refuse to go to the dance with Louis. Meanwhile, Louis's sister, Ren, becomes obsessed with a brain teaser and spends all of her time trying to solve it.
As the two storylines progress, they eventually intersect when Ren realizes that the solution to her puzzle may be able to help solve Louis's romantic troubles. With her help, Louis is able to make things right with Tawny and ask her to the dance in a more genuine way.
Throughout the episode, there are also several comedic elements, such as Louis attempting to make his fortune-telling machine seem realistic and Ren's humorous obsession with the brain teaser. Additionally, the episode touches on themes of honesty and the importance of being true to oneself.
