- June 25, 2020
Esme & Roy is an animated TV show for preschoolers that follows the adventures of best friends Esme and Roy, who together run a monster-sitting business. Each episode features the duo solving problems and making new friends while taking care of their monster charges.
In the second episode of the show's second season, titled "To Cupcake With Love; A True Monsterpiece," Esme and Roy are tasked with babysitting a particularly challenging monster. The monster's favorite thing in the world is cupcakes, and it will do just about anything to get them.
At first, Esme and Roy struggle to keep up with the monster's insatiable appetite for cupcakes. No matter how many they make, the monster just seems to want more. But when they realize that the monster is actually feeling lonely and sad, they come up with a plan to cheer it up.
Esme and Roy decide to throw the monster a cupcake-themed party, complete with all kinds of cupcake decorations and games. The monster is overjoyed, and for the first time in a long time, it feels like it has found a true sense of belonging.
But the fun isn't over yet. As the party winds down, Esme and Roy get a call from one of their regular clients, a monster named Lotta. Lotta is in the middle of creating a masterpiece for the annual Monsteria Art Show, but she's having trouble finding inspiration. It's up to Esme and Roy to help her find her creative spark and create a true "monsterpiece."
As they help Lotta with her artwork, Esme and Roy realize that sometimes all it takes to be creative is a little bit of inspiration and a lot of imagination. With their help, Lotta creates a work of art that truly captures the essence of what it means to be a monster.
In "To Cupcake With Love; A True Monsterpiece," Esme and Roy teach children important lessons about empathy, creativity, and the power of friendship. Through their adventures with the monsters they care for, they help young viewers understand that everyone has their own unique talents and struggles, and that by working together and supporting one another, anything is possible.
