Dr. Carter treats a couple of students who were injured in a hazing incident, while also dealing with his sister's addiction issues. Dr. Benton confronts a surgeon over his surgical technique, causing tension between the two. Dr. Greene has to deal with a patient who is refusing surgery for her cancer. Meanwhile, a young girl comes into the ER with signs of sexual abuse and the doctors have to investigate who the perpetrator might be. They face challenges as the girl is uncommunicative and the detectives assigned to the case seem dismissive of her claims. The hospital staff work to piece together the evidence and ultimately uncover the truth about the girl's abuse. Throughout the episode, themes of consent, victim-blaming, and the importance of taking sexual abuse seriously are explored.
