In ER season 4 episode 15, titled "Exodus," chaos ensues at County General as a group of doctors and nurses prepare for the arrival of a massive influx of patients from a nearby hospital that has been evacuated due to a gas leak. Dr. Greene takes charge of the emergency department, while Dr. Ross leads the trauma team and races against the clock to save the life of a young girl who has been severely injured in a car accident.
As the patients begin to arrive, the staff at County General is pushed to their limits and tensions run high. Dr. Carter struggles to keep up with the influx of new patients and must make difficult decisions about who to prioritize for treatment. Meanwhile, Dr. Benton is forced to confront his feelings for Dr. Corday when she unexpectedly returns to the hospital.
Throughout the episode, the staff must work together to manage their overwhelming workload and provide the best possible care for their patients. The high-stress environment takes a toll on many of the staff members, leading to conflicts and emotional outbursts.
Despite the challenges they face, the doctors and nurses at County General continue to push through and provide care for their patients. As the episode comes to a close, the staff reflects on the difficult day they've had and begins to prepare for the next wave of patients who will be arriving soon.
