The episode begins with Lucious dealing with the aftermath of Bunkie's murder. He's worried about potential snitches, and he's also dealing with his own guilt about what he's done. He enlists Vernon to find out who the snitch might be, and they both agree that it's probably Andre. Lucious decides to deal with the problem head-on and arranges to have Andre kidnapped and brought to his office. He then proceeds to beat him up until he gets a confession.
Meanwhile, Cookie is still trying to make inroads with Hakeem. She's booked a studio session for him and is pushing him to work on his music. However, Hakeem is still struggling to create anything he feels is truly his own. He's also struggling with his relationship with Tiana, who is becoming increasingly demanding and controlling.
Jamal is still dealing with his own issues, as well. He's still grappling with his sexuality and how it might impact his career. He's also dealing with Michael, who wants more from their relationship than Jamal is willing to give. Michael reveals that he's in love with Jamal, but Jamal can't reciprocate.
The big subplot of the episode involves the launch of Empire's new streaming service. Lucious is hoping that this new venture will help take the company to the next level, but things quickly go south when the site crashes during the launch. Lucious blames Andre for the mistake, but it's actually due to hackers who are looking to take down Empire.
As all of these various storylines unfold, tensions begin to rise between Lucious and Cookie. She's becoming increasingly fed up with his controlling and manipulative ways, and he's starting to see her as a liability. The episode ends with a tense conversation between the two of them, as they both realize that they might not be able to work together much longer.
Overall, "Out, Damned Spot" is an intense and dramatic episode that sets up a lot of future conflicts for the characters. It also continues to explore the many different facets of the Lyon family dynamic, as each member struggles to find their place within the Empire.
