Emily's Wonder Lab is an educational show that allows children to get hands-on with science experiments. In season 1 episode 7, titled Bowling with Air, Emily Calandrelli explores the power and science behind air.

Emily starts the episode by explaining how she never thought air could be so powerful until she discovered the Bernoulli principle. She gives an example of how airplanes use the Bernoulli principle to stay in the air. Emily then gathers her assistants and science crew to conduct a series of experiments that showcase the power of air.

The first experiment involves Emily and her crew creating different objects using a 3D printer. They create various shapes and sizes, including a sphere and a square, which they will use in their experiments. Emily shows the audience how the shape of an object affects the way air moves around it. She explains that the round object, in this case, the sphere, has less resistance in the air and is, therefore, able to move faster. The square object, however, has more resistance due to its corners, so it will move slower.

Emily then introduces the audience to their first fun activity, a game of air bowling. They set up a bowling lane and use the 3D-printed shapes as bowling pins. Emily challenges the crew to hit all the pins in one blow. The second fun activity involves making a ping pong ball hover in mid-air using a hairdryer. Emily demonstrates how the Bernoulli principle works and how the movement of air affects the ping pong ball's position.

The next experiment involves building a hovercraft. Emily and her crew assemble a hovercraft using a leaf blower, a piece of plywood, and a shower curtain. Emily explains how the particles in the air move around the hovercraft, creating lift. She also teaches the audience about friction and how it affects the movement of objects on the ground.

Emily then introduces a new assistant named Grant who helps her demonstrate the power of air resistance. They use a tube and a ping pong ball to show how air resistance affects the velocity of the ball. Emily then challenges the crew to come up with a way to slow down the ping pong ball's descent from a high altitude using air resistance.

The final experiment in this episode is making a wind-powered car. Emily and her crew assemble a car using a toy car, a few straws, and a sail made from a plastic bag. They then race their wind-powered cars against each other to see which one moves the fastest.

Throughout the episode, Emily and her crew demonstrate how air affects different objects and how it can be harnessed to create lift and movement. They showcase how air resistance affects the velocity of an object and how friction affects objects' movement on the ground. The experiments are hands-on and engaging, allowing children to interact with science and understand the principles behind them. Overall, Bowling with Air is an exciting and educational episode that children will enjoy.
