In Eden of the East season 1 episode 5, titled "This Is No Time to Be Thinking About That...", Saki and Akira continue their journey together, trying to uncover more information about Akira's past and his connection to the mysterious Eden of the East organization. Meanwhile, the Selecao group (13 individuals who have been given significant amounts of money and power by a mysterious individual known only as "Mr. Outside") continues to carry out their own plans and agendas from the shadows.
As Saki and Akira explore Tokyo, they come across a woman named Kondo who seems to have some information about Akira's history. Kondo tells Akira that he was one of the original Selecao members, and that he was responsible for the missile attacks that struck Tokyo months earlier. Shocked by this revelation, Akira struggles to come to terms with his past and the actions he may have taken as part of the Selecao group.
Meanwhile, the other Selecao members continue to scheme and plot, trying to outdo one another in their efforts to please Mr. Outside. One member, Hirasawa, decides to help the country of Pakistan by opening a hospital there, but his plans are threatened when another Selecao member attempts to sabotage him.
As tensions rise among the Selecao members, Saki and Akira find themselves caught up in the middle of a dangerous game of cat and mouse. With each passing moment, it becomes increasingly clear that the stakes are high and the consequences of failure could be dire.
As the episode comes to a close, Saki and Akira realize that they need to act quickly if they hope to uncover the truth about Akira's past and prevent any further destruction caused by the Selecao. But with so many unknown variables at play, it remains to be seen whether they will succeed or fall victim to their own ignorance.
