Ed, Edd n' Eddy season 4 episode 4, titled "An Ed is Born," follows the adventures of the Eds as they attempt to make a movie. The episode begins with the Eds watching a monster movie and feeling inspired to make their own. Edd suggests that they should use Ed as the monster, and Ed enthusiastically agrees.
The Eds work together to create a makeshift film studio in Edd's backyard. They gather materials, build sets and costumes, and even recruit the other kids in the neighborhood to act in their movie. However, the process doesn't go smoothly, as they face numerous obstacles along the way.
One of the main issues they face is Ed's inability to stay in character as the monster. Although he loves the idea of playing a scary, intimidating creature, he struggles to maintain the role. Edd tries to help him by coaching him on acting techniques, but to no avail. Meanwhile, Eddy becomes increasingly frustrated with the setbacks, and starts to lash out at the others.
As the filming continues, the Eds encounter more and more difficulties. The camera they're using breaks down, the costumes fall apart, and the other neighborhood kids lose interest in the project. Nonetheless, the Eds persevere, determined to finish their movie.
In the end, the Eds gather everyone together to watch their finished product. The movie turns out to be a chaotic mess, with Ed constantly breaking character and the other kids struggling to act. However, the Eds are proud of their work, and the other kids are amused by the silly, over-the-top movie.
