In season 1 episode 3 of Duck Dynasty, titled "High Tech Redneck," we see the Robertson family experimenting with new technology. The episode begins with the guys checking out the latest gadgets, including drones and virtual reality headsets. While Jase is excited about the drones, Phil is a bit more skeptical, calling them "a grand waste of time."
Meanwhile, Willie is dealing with a somewhat more practical technological challenge. The company's phone system is outdated and unreliable, and Willie is tasked with finding a new one. He enlists the help of a tech guru named Tad who promises to bring the company into the modern age.
While Willie is focused on the phone system, Jase is more interested in using the new technology for some good old-fashioned duck hunting. He sets up a drone to scout out the best hunting spots, but the plan doesn't quite work out as he hoped.
As the episode progresses, we see the Robertsons struggling to adapt to the new technology. Willie is frustrated with Tad's complicated phone system, and the guys can't quite get the hang of the drones. But despite their struggles, they're determined to keep up with the times.
One of the highlights of the episode comes when the guys decide to take a break from technology and go fishing. They head out to a nearby lake, and Phil impresses everyone with his fishing skills. But even out on the water, they can't escape the influence of technology – Jase brings along his virtual reality headset and loses himself in a virtual world while the fish are biting.
Ultimately, the Robertsons are able to incorporate some new technology into their lives, but they also learn the value of sticking to the tried and true. And of course, they never lose sight of the importance of family, faith, and good old-fashioned fun.
