Ep 7. Mayan Mayhem

In Dual Survival Season 4 Episode 7, titled "Mayan Mayhem," wilderness survival experts Cody Lundin and Joe Teti find themselves in the heart of the Yucatan jungle. The duo is dropped off by boat and are given only a map and compass to navigate through the thick vegetation to reach their destination - an ancient Mayan ruin.

As they make their way through the jungle, navigating around poisonous snakes, spiders, and treacherous terrain, they take on the challenge to see if they can use the skills they have learned from their years of survival training to locate the ruins without getting lost.

Their food and water supply quickly run out, so they must use their knowledge of the land to forage for food and find sources of water. They discover that even the bark of certain trees can provide a water source in a pinch. When they come across a massive spider web, they decide to catch the spider and eat it for protein.

Although they are both experienced trackers, they had to navigate carefully around the large predators in the area, including jaguars. Fortunately, they spot a lizard that they can catch for their dinner. But with little cooking gear to work with, they must come up with creative ways to prepare and cook their meals.

Along the way, they encounter a massive cenote, or sinkhole. While the crystal-clear water is tempting, they know it is too deep for them to safely get down to it and retrieve the water they need for drinking and cooking.

Undeterred, Cody and Joe press on and eventually, they reach the Mayan ruins. But their challenge is not over yet. The site is crawling with venomous snakes, and they must take extra precautions to avoid being bitten.

Once inside the ruins, they put their survival skills to the test as they search for hidden chambers. They come across ancient artifacts and structures and interpret the Mayan inscriptions, providing insight into how the Mayans lived.

As the sun begins to set, they must find a suitable place to spend the night. They choose a spot that affords them some protection from the elements and predators, but they are still vulnerable to the dangers of the jungle.

The next day, they struggle to find enough food and water to keep them going, and they must improvise even more to survive.

Through it all, Cody and Joe demonstrate their expertise in surviving in the wilderness, relying on their knowledge and skills to navigate through the jungle and accomplish their goal. With a determination and respect for the ancient Mayan culture, they show how survival can be both a challenge and an adventure.
