In Dual Survival season 2 episode 9, titled "Eating Dust," survival experts Cody Lundin and Dave Canterbury find themselves stranded in the high desert of Eastern Oregon. After their truck breaks down and supplies run low, the duo must rely on their survival skills to make it out alive.
With temperatures reaching over 100 degrees, the pair must find water and shelter to avoid heat exhaustion. They begin their journey by following a dry creek bed in search of any available water source. With their limited resources, they must get creative to capture and filter any water they find.
As they trek through the hot and dusty desert, they face additional challenges such as a lack of shade and wildlife. With no food to sustain them, they must rely on their knowledge of edible plants to survive. However, identifying safe plants can be a difficult task, and the few they come across do not provide much sustenance.
Still, they press on and eventually stumble upon a promising location to set up camp. They spend the day constructing a shelter using materials they find in the surrounding area. They also create a fire pit and filter more water to ensure their hydration.
As night falls, the situation takes a turn for the worse when a sudden rainstorm hits. While the rain provides much-needed relief from the heat, it also puts their shelter and fire at risk. The two must work quickly to ensure their survival tools are not washed away.
Despite the difficult challenges they face, Lundin and Canterbury remain positive and resourceful. They continue to search for food sources and try to make the best of their situation.
In the end, the duo successfully navigates the high desert and proves that with resourcefulness and a positive attitude, anyone can survive in even the harshest of conditions.
