Jane is back in court after taking on a case for a housewife who committed a crime in order to take care of her family. The case becomes complicated when the prosecution decides to make an example out of her, and Jane must fight to keep her client from going to jail. Meanwhile, Grayson tries to convince Jane to let him take her out on a date, but she remains hesitant after their previous kiss. Stacy discovers that her biological mother has been let out of prison and tries to track her down, but her search brings up more questions than answers. And Fred helps Kim represent a man who is suing for the right to marry his deceased fiancée's mother, causing Jane to reflect on her own life choices.
