Ep 2. Merry Madagascar
In the second episode of DreamWorks Holiday Classics season 1, viewers are treated to a holiday adventure with their favorite Madagascar characters. Titled "Merry Madagascar," this episode follows Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria as they celebrate their first Christmas on the island of Madagascar.
The episode begins with the animals preparing for the holiday season. However, things take an unexpected turn when Santa Claus crash lands on the island after his sleigh gets caught in a tree. The animals are shocked to see the jolly old man and are thrilled to learn more about his world. Santa explains to the animals that his sleigh is damaged and he needs their help to get back home in time for Christmas.
Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria are eager to help and volunteer to be Santa's reindeer. But before they can set off, they learn that King Julien has also been visited by Santa. The pesky lemur has convinced Santa to give him all the toys, and he has become a tyrant over the other animals, demanding tribute and having his likeness carved into the island's iconic baobab tree. But, as always, Julian quickly feels enviously for what he sees, too, and becomes desperate for more.
The Madagascar crew is now faced not only with helping Santa but also with stopping King Julien from taking over the island. They come up with a plan to distract King Julien while they work on repairing Santa's sleigh. In the meantime, the animals help Santa deliver presents to children everywhere, including places like Norway and Cameroon.
As the animals work on fixing the sleigh, they're attacked by Nana, the old lady from the previous films, who is furious with Santa for not bringing her a Mr. Chew toy when she was a child. The animals and Santa are unable to fend off her attack, and they're captured. They're almost hopeless, but they use their powers of friendship and help from other friends they earned in their adventures to find a way to escape and stop Nana.
With Santa's sleigh repaired, the animals are ready to fly him back to the North Pole. King Julien tries to stop them, but he's eventually persuaded to help and goes along for the ride. When they arrive at Santa's workshop, the animals discover that Santa has already delivered presents to all the children, thanks to their hard work.
As a reward for their help, Santa offers to take the Madagascar animals back to New York with him, but they ultimately decide to stay on the island with their new friends. They celebrate Christmas together, complete with a giant Christmas tree and plenty of presents. The episode ends with the animals sharing a joyful moment, knowing they helped make Christmas a success for children all over the world.
Overall, "Merry Madagascar" is a heartwarming holiday tale that showcases the importance of teamwork, friendship, and goodwill. It's filled with laughs, adventure, and plenty of fun, making it a great choice for families to enjoy together during the festive season.
